Street Fighter fans have been anxiously waiting to find out when this title is going to be released, and if they happen to own a PlayStation 4, they will be delighted to find out that Capcom today announced the Street Fighter 5 release date for PS4. The announcement was made as part of Sony’s press briefing at the Paris Games Week.

Lots of good news is coming out of Paris for the PlayStation faithful, it has also been confirmed today that Tekken 7 is coming to PS4, and that No Man’s Sky is out for the console in June 2016.

Street Fighter 5 executive producer Yoshinori Ono showed off a new trailer for the game during the press briefing, confirming that the title adds Dhalsim to the roster. Dhalsim is the yoga master who made his first appearance in Street Fighter 2 back in 1991. This is the 15th character revealed so far out of Street Fighter 5’s roster of 16.

Ono also revealed that Capcom is going to release six add-on characters within the first year after Street Fighter 5 has been released, he even shared a teaser image which showed silhouettes of the new characters which will arrive next year. Players won’t have to pay real money to unlock these characters, they’ll earn Fight Money as they play, it’s the in-game currency they can use to unlock the DLC characters for free.

Street Fighter 5 will be released for Windows PC in spring next year. It will be released on the PlayStation 4 come February 16th, 2015 in the Americas and Europe.
