model_s_crash1A lot of car manufacturers like to tout the safety features of their vehicles. However sometimes what happens in real life can be rather unpredictable, after all not every car accident is head-on. That being said, a post from the Tesla Motors Club forum has revealed that the Tesla Model S actually managed to save two lives.

To be more specific, it managed to save the lives of a woman and child who were riding in the vehicle. Apparently what happened was that the car was on the road when a landslide struck, causing a massive tree to fall onto the car. However it seems that due to the Model S’s build integrity, it managed to prevent worse damage even though the car did take quite a beating, as you can see in the photos.

Now some of you might be wondering, what so special about the Model S that “saved” the lives of the woman and child in it? If you recall, a couple of years ago the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration conducted a test on the Model S, and found that the car could actually withstand a massive crush load.

This means that even though the car was damaged and dented by the tree falling on top of it, it was strong enough to prevent it from completely crumpling or caving in, which could have potentially killed or seriously injured its occupants.
