Verizon and Motorola had previously announced that on the 27th of October, they will be announcing new Droid smartphones. Unfortunately neither company mentioned what phones we might be able to expect, but it has been speculated that at least one of the phones is the rumored Droid Turbo 2.

For those unfamiliar, the Droid Turbo 2 is basically said to be the equivalent of the Moto X Force, except that it has been rebranded to the Droid family that will be part of Verizon’s lineup. The phone is said to be feature a shatterproof screen and according to a recent video teaser posted by Verizon, it seems to confirm that.

In fact the tagline in the video reads, “The new Droid is dropping soon,” along with a Twitter caption that says, “Introducing the perfect phone for imperfect people.” This suggests that the phone that will be launched could be of the rugged variety, although the way the phone fell in the video does seem to point towards it having a shatterproof display.

In any case we guess we will find out more next week so do check back with us then for the details. In the meantime the other Droid phone rumored to be launched is the Droid MAXX 2 which is supposed to be Verizon’s version of the Moto X Play.
