yurekaThey say that good things come to those who wait – well, I suppose the rather select few who happen to own either the Yureka or Yureka Plus smartphones from YU will be pleased to know that close to five months after the announcement of the Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12.1 update, this very update will begin to roll out to the two smartphones. YU’s CEO Rahul Sharma made the announcement in a forum post, “We understand it took longer than usual but we wanted to put up something concrete and ensure its worth your wait. Apologies for a longer wait time.”

Well, you know what they say – better late than never, right? Sharma also sent out a tweet concerning this bit of news, citing that “Sure it took longer but the final stable 12.1 update for all YUREKA & YUREKA Plus users is rolling out NOW. Play on.”

This particular update will see the software version get bumped up to YOG4PAS3JM after installation, where it is set to be on the receiving end of a slew of new features, where among them include a brand new launcher that is touted to work great for one-handed use, better support of codecs for video and audio playback, improved thermal control, and a LiveDisplay feature. The YU Yuphoria smartphone would also be on the receiving end of this update in due time, but no concrete date has been attached to it just yet.
