If you’re a bit sick of the current matchmaking system offered by Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm MOBA, you might be pleased to learn that the company has announced a new mode: Arena mode. This basically see players forced to play random heroes as only three random heroes will be presented to each player at the start of the game.

However you will also get to see what choices are offered to your teammates, so if you are so inclined, you guys will be able to coordinate your hero picks properly in order to have a more well-balanced team. Even better news is that the random heroes offered will be from the game’s entire roster, so even if you haven’t unlocked all the heroes, you’ll still be able to pick them.

Each round will be about 5 minutes long and the objectives will also be random, whether it be capturing temples or fight Garden Terrors. Essentially you could think of Arena Mode as a more condensed and intensive version of Heroes of the Storm, so if you’d like to avoid long and drawn out matches, this could be for you.

The rounds are also a best of three. However Blizzard did state that nothing is set in stone yet. According to Blizzard Community Manager Kevin Johnson, “Keep in mind that there is a lot we still want to do with the mode, so you can expect a great deal of change as we continue to iterate and add additional features.”
