iPadPro_Lifestyle-SplitScreen-PRINTThe iPad Pro is more than just a larger iPad. It is a new direction that Apple is headed what with the introduction of the Apple Pencil, Smart Keyboard, along with Apple CEO Tim Cook’s aspiration that the iPad Pro will eventually replace the need for PCs. However while all those lofty ambitions are great, they’re only great as long as the product works.

Unfortunately it seems that isn’t the case for some users. There is a post on Reddit in which several users complain about their iPad Pro reportedly shutting off while charging. Their complaints are echoed in Apple’s Support Communities in which users are complaining of the same thing.

According to one user, “At night it was down to 40% so I charged it and went to bed.  When I woke up it was “dead”.  It wouldn’t wake up.  I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to come to life.  Worked on it for a couple of hours and had to run an errand.  Plugged it back in as I was going to need a full charge later that day.  Came back to it, same thing.  Dead.  I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to turn on.”

Some users have tried to charge it by using a different and slightly lower-powered charger, but to no avail. Setting it up as a brand new device also did not work, so as it stands the only option left to users is to take it into the store and exchange it for a new one. It is unclear as to what might be causing the problem, whether it be hardware or software, but are any of our readers experiencing these issues themselves?
