T-Mobile’s prepaid brand MetroPCS today announced that it’s adding an additional 1GB of high-speed data to most plans so that customers get more flexibility with cellular data usage. The prepaid carrier’s unlimited 4G LTE plan users are also getting an additional 2GB mobile hotspot tethering allowance which now stands at 8GB as opposed to 6GB. It even brings in a feature from parent T-Mobile which enables users to essentially stream music from popular services for free.

Music Freedom is one of T-Mobile’s uncarrier initiatives, it allows subscribers to stream unlimited music from select services because that data use doesn’t count against their monthly allocation.

Popular services are supported by Music Freedom such as Spotify, Pandora, Google Play Music, iHeartRadio and even Apple Music. Smaller niche services are also supported by Music Freedom, T-Mobile continues to add more services over time.

Also included is the new Data Maximizer technology from T-Mobile that enables MetroPCS customers to watch up to three times more streaming video from almost all video services. This technology achieves the desired result by optimizing streaming video for mobile devices and restricting resolutions at DVD or better quality while keeping data consumption at a minimum.

The prepaid carrier’s new rate plans as well as Music Unlimited will be available from this Thursday, November 19th, additional information about signing up is available through the MetroPCS website.
