shazam-update

Shazam has been around for more than a decade and the service is quite good for discovering tracks that you don’t know the names to, it listens the track and the runs it against the database to bring up details about the track and artist. Today Shazam has released a new update for the mobile application that brings improved text search as well as faster song recognition to keep things moving along just nicely.

Faster song recognition promises that the app will cut down on wait times for the user while the service works in the background to bring up information about a track like titles, artist profiles, other songs from the same artist, their albums and links to listen that song on other online services.

Today’s update also adds a new and improved search feature to the app, text search now resides right on the home page. This feature can be used to search for artists, songs, albums and to find links to listen or down music. It even allows users to search for a song using just lyrics, a great feature when you can’t get a couple of lyrics out of your head and would like to know what song they’re from.

Shazam has rolled out the app update already so it’s available to download right now.
