YouTube Kids Expands To Australia & Canada

youtube kidsEarlier this year YouTube Kids was launched in the US. The good news is that if you wanted your kids to be able to enjoy the same content that kids in the US are enjoying, you’re in luck as Google has announced that YouTube Kids will be making its way to both Australia and Canada, so parents living in those countries should keep an eye out for that.

For those unfamiliar, YouTube Kids is basically YouTube designed for children in mind. Yes, this means that content will be filtered and aimed specifically at children, so all that weird and dark places of YouTube will most likely not find their way onto the kids version of the video streaming platform (phew).

The design of YouTube Kids is also very different from the regular version. It will feature larger icons so that they are more obvious for kids. There is also built-in voice search so children can try to search for videos using their voice if they are unsure how to spell a certain show or character name.

Like we said, there will be a ton of content aimed at children and their families. However there will be a difference in terms of content depending on which country you are living in. For example Canadian viewers can expect shows such as Kids’ CBC, Super Simple Songs and TVO Kids, while those in Australia can look forward to Charli’s Crafty Kitchen, Bounce Patrol, and Hi-5 TV.
