Google-Search-1Google’s search results have evolved over the years. From merely listing links to websites, Google can now display information in search results directly, like launch dates, a brief summary of what you’re looking for, movie ratings, directions, and more without the user having to go to another website.

Now it looks like Google’s search will be growing even more. In an announcement on Google’s search blog, the company revealed that they will be expanding the information that one can find when searching for TV shows or musicians. This expanded search will only be available on Android for now, but it is expected to expand to iOS soon.

According to Google, “Starting today on your Android phone and tablet (and coming soon to iOS), song recommendations, lyrics, covers and much more are just a tap away. And for TV shows and movies, it’s easier to explore past and upcoming episodes, get a recommendation on what to watch next, check out the cast and find showtimes near you.”

That being said according to the folks at MobileSyrup, not all TV shows and artists have been “upgraded” in their search results yet. For example as you can see in the screenshot above, the musician Tycho has been given an upgrade but searching for Radiohead won’t yield the same results, at least not yet. We expect Google will expand this over time so for now if you don’t see the new expanded search results, fret not as we’re sure it will arrive eventually.
