android-6.0-marshmallow

Ever since the Google Play Edition of HTC One M8 got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update last month One M8 owners have been asking when they will receive said update on their handsets. HTC has yet to provide a timeframe, and there are also carrier delays to consider, however it’s believed that HTC will start rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the One M8 within two weeks.

@LlabTooFer, a well known HTC insider who has been right on many occasions in the past as far as major software updates go, tweets that the final HTC One M8 Android 6.0 and Sense 7.0 update is going to start rolling out in two weeks. It will be in build range 6.12.401.x and will first come out in Europe.

If this information is correct then non-Google Play Edition variants of the HTC One M8 should start receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow before the end of this year, at least in Europe to begin with, before the company gradually expands the rollout to other markets across the globe.

Aside from all of the new features and improvements that Marshmallow will bring to the device, Sense 7.0 is going to further refine the overall user interface and bring more customization options, widgets and an improved BlinkFeed as part of improvements made to HTC’s custom skin for Android OS.
