htc-one-review-m8-labshot-04The HTC One M8 was launched in 2014 which means as far as smartphones are concerned, it is a pretty old piece of technology. However we reckon there are probably still plenty of users who are still using the device as they might be stuck on 24-month commitments, or don’t see the need to keep switching things up.

That being said, if you are still using the HTC One M8 that you got from T-Mobile, you will be pleased to learn that HTC’s VP of product management Mo Versi has recently tweeted some good news, which is that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the handset has been confirmed for a release on the 7th of March, 2016.

This is essentially this coming Monday which means that in a couple of days, your 2 year old handset should start feeling like a completely new beast. Prior to this, last month T-Mobile rolled out the Android 6.0 update to the HTC One M9, so it’s good to see that HTC is still giving love to its older devices.

Unfortunately there is no word on the update for the handset on other carriers, so we guess if you’re not on T-Mobile, you’ll just have to wait, or maybe you could even consider checking out ROMs that are based on Android 6.0.
