Earlier we reported that T-Mobile had pushed out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the HTC One M9. We suppose that makes sense given that the HTC One M9 isn’t exactly old. However the good news is that if you’re still holding onto your HTC One M8 and weren’t really expecting it to be updated, you’ll be pleased to learn that is not the case.

It has been noted that on T-Mobile’s website, the carrier has announced that the Nougat update for the HTC One M8 is ready. It should be noted that the One M8 was launched back in 2014 which makes the phone about 3 years old. This is quite surprising as from what we have seen, most handset OEMs typically tend to support devices that are relatively newer, like 2 years or less.

However we suppose this is good news so we shouldn’t really complain. It is unclear when the update will begin rolling out or if it has already. T-Mobile’s website notes that the update is “now available”, so it should be in the process of being pushed out to One M8 owners. If you do own the One M8 and you’re also on T-Mobile’s network, do keep an eye out for the update and let us know in the comments below if you have gotten it.
