Sometimes we have to admit that we are curious as to how a weapon from inside a game might look if created in real life. Will it look as cool? Will it be as potentially devastating, if not more? Thankfully in recent years Man at Arms, a YouTube channel, has been recreating said weapons, such as Gorehowl from World of Warcraft, and Thor’s Mjolnir.

For those who are fans of Mortal Kombat, the latest video from the channel sees the master blacksmith recreate the fanblades wielded by Kitana from the game. If you are unfamiliar with Kitana’s fanblades, these weapons serve a dual purpose where they can either be thrown, or be used in melee combat.

In the video, the weapons are forged using a long piece of SAE 1075 steel. The crafting of the blades needs to be careful and precise as the fan will need to be able to open and close, so if they are not even, it will result in a rather ugly-looking fan. As for the fan itself, they are made from silk and hand-stitched to top things off.

In any case if you have a few minutes to spare, you can check out the entire process in the video above.
