Times flies because believe it or not, OnePlus has turned 2! While there are plenty of smaller smartphone makers in the market today, safe to say that not many of them have made the same splash that OnePlus has in recent times. We suppose this is largely thanks to the fact that the OnePlus One was one of the few phones around that was launched with Cyanogen OS preinstalled.

To celebrate the company turning two years old, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has announced that they will be launching a champagne version of the OnePlus X. For those unfamiliar, the OnePlus X is a low-mid range handset that focuses more on its aesthetics than its hardware. Prior to this, there was a ceramic version of the handset so to see another variant doesn’t really come as a surprise.

oneplus-x-champagne-pressAccording to Pei, “While the OnePlus staff will be popping bottles of champagne, we want to celebrate with you by officially launching the OnePlus X Champagne edition. We’ll be rolling out this white and gold version of the OnePlus X in Europe, with other markets to follow very soon.” As for how you can buy it, Pei states that the regular OnePlus X invites will work, and that they will also be sold during their weekly open sales.

In a surprising announcement, Pei also announced that OnePlus will be releasing a documentary that tells the story of the company, and will give fans and customers a behind-the-scenes look at how the company operates. It is expected to be released in 2016 but in the meantime, you can check out the teaser in the video above.
