iPhone-6-review-5According to a rumor from earlier today, it was further corroborated that Apple will indeed ditch the headphone port on the iPhone 7. This is done in a bid to make the phone thinner. However what will become of headphone users? The semi-good news is that in exchange for ditching the headphone port, Apple is expected to give free wireless headphones with the iPhone 7.

As it stands iPhones come bundled with a regular pair of wired headphones, but according to rumors out of China, the iPhone 7 will come bundled with wireless headphones instead, which we can imagine will cost Apple more but hopefully it will appease customers who might not be too thrilled by this new move.

So far there have been mixed reactions to the headphone port ditching rumors. Some believe that it is a good idea that Apple is moving onto potentially new standards, while others think it’s a bad idea. One of the advantages to using the Lightning port is that it allows better audio quality. Going wireless has its advantages too since you wouldn’t have to deal with tangled cables.

However there are too many devices and accessories out there that already rely on the headphone port, so for Apple to make such a drastic move, it could end up alienating a lot of customers, not to mention some of their partners when it comes to accessories as well, but until we hear it officially, take it with a grain of salt for now.
