kids_mode_appA couple of years ago, Samsung introduced the Kids Mode app with the Galaxy S5 smartphone. For those who are unfamiliar with the app, this basically turns your phone into a kids-friendly device. It will feature bright and cartoony home screens along with apps and features designed specifically for children.

It will also prevent in-app purchases so that kids don’t rack up your credit cards, and apps have also been sorted by age and category to prevent adult material from surfacing. Basically it turns your phone into a kids phone without sacrificing hardware in the process. That being said, SamMobile has learnt that a new Kids Mode app is in the works for 2016.

According to the report, the newer version is said to sport a new UI with improved animations, and is basically getting a big overhaul. The report also claims that Samsung could be getting ready to introduce a new kids tablet, which they speculate could come in the form of the Galaxy Tab E Kids tablet that was leaked recently.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully with MWC 2016 kicking off next month, we will find out more about the device and the app then, so be sure to check back with us for more updates.
