li ming d3A couple of weeks ago, Blizzard announced that they would adding two new heroes to Heroes of the Storm. These heroes came in the form of characters from the Diablo franchise, which included the Wizard from Diablo 3 and the Necromancer character from Diablo 2. That being said, it looks like in celebration of the lunar new year, Blizzard has made the Wizard character playable.

For those who missed the announcement, the Wizard character is called Li-Ming. Her abilities include Magic Missiles, Arcane Orb, and Teleport. Her heroic abilities (or ultimate as DotA 2 players are more familiar with) include Disintegrate and Wave of Force. In addition to making the character playable, Blizzard is also holding two special events.

The events run until the 1st of March and the first will see players complete 25 games. If they do, they will be awarded a Monkey Elder holiday portrait. The second event is called Catch the Monkey Elder. Players are expected to chase after a monkey carrying a red envelope filled with gold, and if caught, 100 gold will be awarded to allys with an active Monkey Elder special event quest.

So if you’re looking for a reason to get back into the game, hopefully the new hero and the events will be tempting enough. No word on when Necromancer Xul will be added to the game, but we expect it shouldn’t be too long.
