PBS already offers a lot of great content for the little ones which can be accessed using a variety of streaming options but it’s going to take it one step further. The public broadcaster has confirmed that it’s going to launch a new channel called PBS Kids which will be available 24/7 via conventional television broadcast as well as via online streaming.

Viewers will be able to tune into the round-the-clock livestream through a variety of mobile devices and platforms. The live stream will be available on pbskids.org, and on the PBS Kids Video app which will be released for mobile devices, tablets and streaming devices like the Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Android TV, Chromecast and Xbox One.

The live stream will be complemented with on-demand clips and full episodes, all of the content will continue to be available for free on the PBS Kids Video App and streaming on pbskids.org. The live stream experience will later be expanded to provide an integrated games feature, allowing children to switch between a PBS Kids show and an activity that encourages learning in one seamless digital experience.

PBS is yet to confirm when this free streaming service is going to go live, it has only said that the service will go live later this year.
