Han Solo is a beloved character from the Star Wars universe and we’re getting new content from Marvel in which he features prominently. Marvel has confirmed that Han Solo is the latest character from the Star Wars universe to get his own spinoff comic book series. This limited new comic book series is going to be set between the events of the first Star Wars film that came out in 1977 and The Empire Strikes Back.

Marjorie Liu, with series like Astonishing X-Men under her belt, is going to pen this new comic book series featuring Han Solo. It will follow our favorite smuggler-turned-rebel-fighter on a journey that reveals his personal politics and as he rediscovers who he really is.

There will also be some new elements in this comic book series like the Dragon Void Run. A big starship race that Solo has wanted to take part in all his life, and when finally gets a chance to participate in that dream event, Princess Leia calls on him to proceed on a mission to find out if there are any moles in the Rebellion.

You can’t talk about Solo without mentioning Chewbacca, they’re thick as thieves after all, and fans will be delighted to find out that Chewbacca is going to be featured in this comic book series as well. The series will run for five issues and the first issue will arrive this June.
