lg_g5_cam_plusOne of the standout features of the LG G5 isn’t so much its hardware specs, which by itself is pretty amazing and impressive, but rather its “Friends” feature which is basically removable modular components. This lets users swap out batteries for larger ones, improve audio by adding a DAC, and also adding a camera grip attachment.

Speaking of which if you’re wondering how much some of these modules will cost, the folks at B&H have recently put up the listing for the LG G5’s CAM Plus “Friends” module, which they have priced at $70. This is admittedly rather pricey but given that official accessories do not come cheap (look at how much Apple sells its official cables/cases/etc.), we guess this doesn’t really come as a surprise.

For those wondering what the CAM Plus module does, it adds a dedicated camera shutter button, along with a power, record, and zoom button. It also adds a grip to the phone so that you can essentially hold the phone like you would a camera and use physical controls, as opposed to having to press the screen to snap photos and to zoom.

That being said with the CAM Plus being listed at $70, we have to wonder how much the DAC that they created in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen will cost. No word on the pricing yet but given B&O’s prices, we doubt it will be cheaper than what the CAM Plus will cost.
