lg-g5_hands-on_23The LG G5 is LG’s attempt at trying something different by introducing modular components and accessories. Granted it isn’t fully modular like Project Ara, but we reckon it is modular enough where it remains interesting and functional. That being said, the question is when will we be able to get our hands on the device?

The good news is that we finally have an official release date, although we should note that this date only seems to be applicable to Canada. According to reports, it seems that the LG G5 will be officially released in Canada come April 8. We’re not sure what this means for the US market or for the rest of the world, but presumably we should be looking at release dates roughly around the same time as well.

LG has confirmed that the LG G5 will be available across all four major US carriers – AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon, but to date the company and neither of the carriers has offered up a solid release date other than to say that it will be available in April, so we guess the 8th of April launch in Canada could be used as a guide or indication that the phone’s release in the US is around the corner.

In any case we will be keeping our eyes peeled for its release stateside, but for our friends and readers in Canada, mark the 8th of April down on your calendars if the LG G5 seems like a phone you might be interested in checking out.
