HP Chromebook 11 G4 EE_jack black_back

A new report suggests that HP has a new Chromebook in the pipeline that comes with some very impressive features. The Chromebook is said to have support for VR and may also have a touchscreen, USB Type-C charging and more. HP hasn’t commented on the report as yet so take the information with a grain of salt for now.

Other reports claim that this new Chromebook is also going to have 16GB of RAM and a backlit keyboard. Arguably the most interesting feature to be rumored here is the VR support though it’s not entirely clear what kind of support it’s going to be.

Chrome OS isn’t the platform many will associate with VR right now, that laurel rests squarely with Windows, but it could be that HP wants to have an edge in the Chromebook market by making sure that its product comes with VR support.

For it to work with VR headsets the Chromebook is going to need some serious graphics processing power and right now it’s not clear what sort of a graphics card this Chromebook will have.

As previously mentioned, HP hasn’t said anything about such a Chromebook up till now, so one can’t really say when it’s going to be announced and how much it will cost. We’ll keep our ear to the ground for that crucial bit of information.
