Many people like Android devices because it’s much easier to deeply customize them as opposed to an iOS device on which Apple tightly controls the entire user experience. To make major changes to the look and feel of your Android handset you need to unlock the bootloader. That’s not hard to do in most cases if the handset features an unlockable bootloader, the LG G5 does feature one, and it’s now possible to unlock LG G5 bootloader using an official tool provided by the company.

The international unlocked model of the LG G5 (H850) is compatible with the company’s own bootloader unlocking tool, which means that the tool can be used to safely and securely unlock the bootloader of this particular LG G5 model. If you own another model don’t try to use this tool on it because it won’t work.

Once the bootloader is unlocked you can make some major changes to the device, including but not limited to installing a custom recovery and flashing third-party ROMs. Bear in mind that you will void the warranty if you do any of that.

It doesn’t take more than a couple of minutes to unlock the bootloader if you’re familiar with how it’s done. If it’s your first time, please take some time out to study how a bootloader is unlocked and what problems you can run into if you don’t do it correctly.
