galaxy-tab-a-orderHave you ever gone to a restaurant where the traditional menu is no more, but rather, an iPad with a pre-installed app running the show? It would certainly cut down on the middle person as orders from your table are sent directly to the kitchen (and the cashier, of course), and I have seen several commercial sushi joints already taking such a route. Fast food pioneer McDonald’s has decided to install Samsung tablets in its outlets across the UK for their customers to use.

This step in the right direction where technology is concerned would definitely make McDonald’s more appealing to the younger and obviously more technologically inclined crowd. In fact, wireless charging mats have already been installed in selected restaurants, while other places offer a Happy Meal that can be converted into a Cardboard VR goggle set. This time around, the presence of Samsung Galaxy tablets should be able to make the brand more appealing to the younger folk, although we do wonder just how often do the displays on the Samsung tablets installed will need to be cleaned each hour from all the greasy fingers that touch it.

Looks like conversation during a meal is going to swiftly be a thing of the past!
