EA has just announced that it’s going to work with Respawn Entertainment on a new Star Wars game. In case you’re not aware, Respawn Entertainment is the studio behind the popular Titanfall game. The new game set in the Star Wars universe that has been confirmed today is going to be a third-person action adventure game.

That’s all that has been revealed today, and with good reason, it’s Star Wars Day after all. In its announcement, EA did not reveal any details about the game itself. Since they’ve only just announced it, it goes without saying that we’ll have to wait for a considerable time before more information about the new as yet untitled game surfaces.

Respawn is a relatively new studio headed by people who’ve previously worked at Infinity Ward, including founders Vince Zampella and Jason West. Titanfall was Respawn’s first game and they recently confirmed a sequel is in the works as well.

“We have already planted the seeds by assembling a small, but incredibly talented team, ready for the amazing journey that lies ahead,” said Stig Asmussen, who worked on the God of War franchise before joining Respawn. He’s going to lead the team working on this new Star Wars game.

No further information has been confirmed today so we don’t know what this title is going to be called, what characters will figure into it, and when it does arrive which platforms it’s going to be available on.
