Resident-Evil-Revelations-2The last we checked, the last Resident Evil game released by Capcom was in 2012, which means that it has been about 4 years since we last saw a brand new Resident Evil title (HD remakes not counted). This has left fans wondering about the next game, with speculation every year hinting at an E3 reveal.

In fact the closest thing we got to a confirmation was last year when the game’s producer told everyone to “stay tuned”. That being said, it looks like we now know when the game could be released, thanks to Capcom’s recent financials in which they stated that they plan to launch the next “full-scale offensive” Resident Evil game by the end of the 2016 fiscal year, which is set for the 31st of March, 2017.

It is possible and maybe even likely that the game will be released before then, but at the very least we now have our cut-off date which is next year. Unfortunately this still leaves the title of the game up in the air as well as the story, the gameplay, the graphics, features, and so on. However E3 is coming up so maybe, just maybe Capcom could reveal more then.

Alternatively we guess we have the rest of the year and early next year for the company to make an announcement, so do check back with us later for more updates, if there are any to be had.
