Many Nintendo owners had long been waiting for Minecraft to arrive on their preferred gaming platform and it did finally arrive in December last year. Microsoft released a new version of this popular game for the Wii U, the game was very similar to how it is on other platforms, but Nintendo did say back then that it would get “new content for Nintendo fans” at a later date. That new content is just around the corner now.

Super Mario is coming to Minecraft for Nintendo Wii U. What this means is that Minecraft is going to get a lot of new content based on Super Mario. Content includes new textures for the world, 40 different character skins and over a dozen pieces of Super Mario 64 music.

A pre-made Mario world is also going to be included, the world will be designed using all of the new content that will be available to players on May 17th as a free update. This marks the first time that a Nintendo property has made an appearance in the popular game that is Minecraft.

Nintendo has also said that it’s going to release a retail version of Minecraft on Wii U come June 17th, the retail version is going to include the new Mario add-ons that are already on the disc.
