blackberry-priv-review_ubergizmo_05A couple of weeks ago, BlackBerry began to push out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to BlackBerry Priv handsets that were purchased directly from the company. This meant that if you purchased the handset from a carrier, your update will be arriving later, but the good news is that T-Mobile customers did not have to wait too long.

According to reports, it seems that a new beta build of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has begun rolling out to BlackBerry Priv owners. Note that this update is only for those who signed up to be part of the beta program to test the update before it makes its way to everyone else, so if you didn’t sign up then you won’t be getting it, at least not until it is ready for primetime.

That being said, it should be pointed out that this is only for T-Mobile US customers whose BlackBerry Priv models are of the STV100-1 variety. There is no word on when AT&T or Verizon’s BlackBerry Priv will be getting the beta, but from the schedule it looks like they are not part of it. The latest rollout will also apply to the STV100-3 variants which are for those on Canadian carriers and the Asia Pacific region.

Still no word on when the update will leave its beta status behind, but hopefully it won’t be too long until it does.
