During its E3 2016 press conference, Microsoft shows off a new trailer for Dead Rising 4. It didn’t provide a confirmed release date for the title but only said that the game is going to be released in “holiday 2016.” A listing went live on the Xbox Store soon after which leaked the possible release date for this game. It hasn’t taken long since then for Microsoft to officially confirm the Dead Rising 4 release date.

Dead Rising 4 is being developed by Capcom Vancouver. It’s going to be released for Windows 10 and Xbox One. Players will take control of freelance photographer Frank West, the original game’s protagonist. The game is set in Willamette, Colorado sixteen years after the events of the original game.

This new addition to the Dead Rising series differs a bit from previous iterations as it includes a four-player co-op mode, an exoskeleton, and even the ability to take selfies in the game. It’s very modern like that, and fans of the franchise are likely to find that amusing.

Microsoft didn’t reveal a release date for the game during its E3 2016 event, only saying that it’s going to be released in the holiday season this year. The leaked Xbox Store listing mentioned December 6th, 2016 as the possible release date. Microsoft has now confirmed to IGN that Dead Rising 4 is indeed going to be released on December 6th, 2016.
