Star Wars: Episode VII was one of the most popular movies to have come out last year. The Force Awakens has finished its run in theaters and fans are now anxiously looking forward to the sequel because we know that at least two more films will be released in this new trilogy. Star Wars Episode 8 director Rian Johnson has teased us all by sharing a new image and he has also revealed that filming has almost finished on the new movie.

The teaser image that Johnson posted on Tumblr shows some Jedi robes with the caption “In the home stretch.” Obviously, it doesn’t reveal anything about the plot of this movie but gives us hope that the production appears to be on track.

Filming on Star Wars Episode 8 started in February this year. Much of it has been done in the United Kingdom which some parts being shot in Croatia. The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Laura Dern, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and others.

There aren’t a lot of details known about the plot at this point in time, but some of the cast members have said that fans should expect something different from the previous films released in this franchise. Looks like fans are in for a surprise, whether or not it will be a pleasant surprise remains to be seen.

Star Wars Episode 8 is slated to hit the big screen on December 15th, 2017.
