facebook logoAs you might have heard, Facebook announced that they have found a way around ad blockers, basically meaning that whether you like it or not, Facebook will now display ads even if you have an ad blocker installed. Naturally some weren’t too thrilled by this, one of them being Adblock Plus.

The company recently announced that they figured out a workaround to get their ad blocker working again. It sounded like great news, but unfortunately it looks like Facebook has since closed the loophole. According to a report from TechCrunch, it turns out that Facebook figured out a way around Adblock Plus’ workaround.

John Constine of TechCrunch writes, “A source close to Facebook tells me that today, possibly within hours, the company will push an update to its site’s code that will nullify Adblock Plus’ workaround. Apparently it took two days for Adblock Plus to come up with the workaround, and only a fraction of that time for Facebook to disable it.”

He also states that the code has been pushed out meaning that if you use Adblock Plus, don’t be surprised if you find that it no longer works for Facebook. We have a feeling that this will end up being a game of cat and mouse, but who will prevail remains to be seen.
