instagram storiesInstagram’s Stories feature was launched not too long ago, and basically it is more or less similar to Snapchat’s stories which some people have accused Instagram of pretty much copying, but we suppose that’s a debate for another day. So far Stories can be found at the top of your Instagram feed and they are from people you follow.

However Instagram seems to want to make it so that you can discover Stories from people you do not follow and have introduced Stories to its Explore tab. The Explore tab is basically where you can find photos and videos from other Instagram users that the platform thinks you might be interested in, and now it will also play host to Stories.

According to Instagram’s director of product management Blake Barnes, he tells TechCrunch why some people use the Explore tab. “Some seek it out as the primary way they use Instagram…Some people view it as a dessert.” He also has this to say about the Stories feature. “We’re really excited to see how quickly they’ve caught on, whether with everyday users or celebrities and brands.”

In any case if you do enjoy the Stories feature on Instagram, we guess the addition of Stories to the Explore tab should make it more interesting for you to discover new accounts to follow and what not, so check it out if you haven’t done so already.
