amazon restaurantAmazon might have started off as an online retailer by selling books to customers, but over the years that it has operated, their business has evolved where they are involved in various businesses. For example not just content with delivering parcels, Amazon has recently gotten involved in food delivery.

Now it seems that their food delivery service has expanded to the UK and residents in London will be able to take advantage of it. Dubbed Amazon Restaurants, this service will be available to those who subscribe to Amazon’s Prime service which runs for £79 a year. Its delivery zone is a bit limited at the moment, but for those within those areas, you guys can order food and have them delivered to you within 1 hours.

According to Amazon, they have managed to convince 148 restaurants to come on board with the service, including Michelin star Indian restaurant Benares, Mayfair Pizza Co., The Duck Truck, and Hummus Bros. However this service will also see Amazon compete with the likes of other food delivery services such as Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Just Eat.

Al Wilkinson, UK head of Amazon Restaurants at Amazon says, “London offers some of the best cuisine from around the world, so we’re delighted that Amazon Prime customers can now enjoy food from their favourite restaurants via Amazon’s ultra-fast Prime Now service.” Like we said, this service is only open to those with an Amazon Prime subscription, but if you’re already subscribed then we guess this service is just an added perk you can look forward to using.
