xiaomi-mi-5sIt is expected that in 2017, flagship smartphones will most likely turn to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 and if the rumors are to be believed, the Xiaomi Mi 6 could be one of the phones to adopt the chipset. This was apparently revealed by the CEO of IHS Markit Research Kevin Wong, although we reckon this sounds more like a prediction at this point in time.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 will be Xiaomi’s flagship of 2017. The company has been steadily releasing a bunch of phones over the years, with the Mi 5 launching in early 2016. We’re not sure when the Mi 6 will be launched, but assuming Xiaomi keeps to their schedule, we could be looking at an early 2017 launch as well.

Unfortunately the rest of the phone’s specs are still a mystery save for its chipset. We’re not sure if Xiaomi will adapt the Mi Mix’s design for the Mi 6, but that would be a pretty awesome move by the company if they were to do that. Xiaomi is also expected to make an announcement at CES 2017 next year.

This will also mark the first time that Xiaomi will appear at CES. The company’s smartphones have largely existed within the Asian region, particularly that of China. We know they have plans to eventually expand to the US, so the question is will the Xiaomi Mi 6 be the phone that they’ll be using?
