xiaomi-ces-2017The US is one market in which Xiaomi has not fully broken into yet. The company does sell some of their products in the US, but their bigger ticket and more well-known products like smartphones aren’t available in the US yet. However could that be changing in 2017? We’re not sure, but Xiaomi seems to have something planned.

In a post on its Facebook page, Xiaomi has announced that in 2017, the company will be making their first ever appearance at CES in Las Vegas. The announcement reads, “Helloooo Vegas! We’re heading to CES on 5 Jan for the very first time and we’re thrilled to be launching an all-new product globally there. Any guesses? Place your bets now!”

The description on the CES website says, “At its CES debut, leading technology company Xiaomi will be showcasing an exciting new product that illustrates how it is pushing the boundaries of innovation.” All of this is rather cryptic and given that Xiaomi dabbles in all kinds of products ranging from smartphones, to drones, to air purifiers, headphones, and more, it’s really anyone’s guess.

Also Xiaomi has reached out to us to let us know that they’ll be clarifying the product’s market availability, which has yet to be determined, at a later date. Now the company has stated that their plans to fully launch in the US will happen in the near future, and that this could take 1-2 years. Whether their announcement at CES will be about breaking into the US market remains to be seen, but either way do check back with us on the 5th of January, 2017 for the details.
