pokemon-goAccording to a report from last week, datamining efforts have revealed that Niantic has an update planned for Pokemon GO that will see the release of 100 new Pokemon from the Pokemon Gold/Silver version of the franchise. It was also rumored that the update would arrive in December.

Now it seems that the information could have been accurate because it looks like based on leaked promotional materials from Starbucks, the update could be arriving on the 8th of December. According to the promo materials, it talks about how Starbucks will be turned into Pokestops to help celebrate the launch of the latest update which will probably be one of the game’s biggest updates.

The promo materials does not specifically mention the update, but it has been speculated that this could be the reason, otherwise why bother creating such a huge event, right? If the previous datamined information is accurate, the update is also expected to include other much-demanded features like trading and player battles.

In any case try not to get your hopes up just yet, but do check back with us on the 8th of December for the details. In the meantime it seems that this update is targeted at US-based Starbucks outlets, so if you live in another country there may or may not be a similar promotion that has been planned for you guys as well.
