It’s all but confirmed that Samsung is going to announce the new Galaxy A (2017) series handsets in the first week of January. There have been countless reports and leaks that have brought us information about the Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017) and the Galaxy A7 (2017). A new rumor brings us the new Galaxy A (2017) series prices and they’re around the same ballpark as many would have expected for Samsung’s mid-range lineup.

Samsung Malaysia sent out invites to the press yesterday for the Galaxy A (2017) launch event. The event takes place a couple of hours before Samsung’s press conference at CES 2017. The possibility exists that Samsung might mention the new series at CES as well.

The prices of this upcoming series have also emerged out of Malaysia. The Galaxy A5 (2017) is rumored to cost around 1699 RM or $380 while the top-of-the-line Galaxy A7 (2017) may cost 1899 RM or $420. The price for the entry-level Galaxy A3 (2017) has not yet been revealed but it may not be long before we get to see that as well.

Samsung’s new Galaxy A (2017) series is going to feature updated internals, a slight change in the design, and they will also be water resistant. A teaser from Samsung Malaysia confirmed as much.

No word as yet on the markets where Samsung is going to sell the Galaxy A (2017) series.
