street-fighterRage quitting is an issue that game developers have been dealing with for a long time now. Capcom themselves have come up with all sorts of ways to deter rage quitters, and in the latest Winter update to Street Fighter V, Capcom has implemented a couple of new ways to deal with players who rage quit.

The first is simple and straightforward, in which if you were to quit halfway through a game, League Points would be deducted as it would be considered a loss. The second is by pairing rage quitters together, which means that if you rage quit often, you’ll be paired with other players of similar tendencies to get a taste of your own medicine.

According to Capcom, “Players who frequently disconnect during matches will now be more likely to be matched up with other players who exhibit similar behavior. The same applies for honorable players who rarely, if ever disconnect; they will be matched up with similar players.” Last but not least they will also be implementing the icon system which we covered last week, in which rage quitters would be publicly shamed by having an icon displayed next to their name for the world to see.

Capcom writes, “The worst offenders and the most honorable players will also have a special icon displayed on their Fighter Profiles.” These changes should be live and will also see other features added alongside the new rage quitting system.
