batman-arkham-2013-releaseThese days comics exist in both digital and physical formats. Some prefer digital as it’s easier to bring around, while others prefer physical as sometimes physical comic books can appreciate in value if kept in good condition. However this usually means having to choose between either purchasing a physical copy or a digital copy.

After all who would buy both at the same time since it’s a waste of money, right? However DC has decided that they’ll make it easier for their customers in the future. In a press release, the publisher has announced that select DC monthly books will come with a code that will allow readers to download a digital copy of the comic if they want.

Unfortunately it seems that this means that prices of comics will be increased as well from $2.99 to $3.99. “These books will now include access to a digital copy of the book on readdcentertainment.com via digital code so fans can access their favorite stories in print and digital form anytime, anywhere. In addition, Rebirth titles current priced at $3.99 and up will also receive the digital code.”

According to DC, this is expected to be implemented come this April and will cover titles such as ALL STAR BATMAN, BATGIRL, BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY, BATMAN BEYOND, BATWOMAN, BLUE BEETLE, CYBORG, THE HELLBLAZER, NEW SUPER-MAN, RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS, SUPER SONS, SUPERGIRL, SUPERWOMAN, TEEN TITANS, TITANS, TRINITY.
