dell-laptopsWhen it comes to computers for the classroom, there are things to consider that you might not necessarily consider if you were buying a computer for yourself. A good example would be durability where you would probably want a computer/laptop that could withstand the daily rigors of use as well as being passed around and used by students all day.

The good news for educators is that Dell has the answer for you in the form of new Latitude and Chromebook computers that are aimed at the education sector. The first comes in the form of the Latitude 11 Convertible and the Chromebook 11 Convertible. As their name suggests, they are hybrid laptops that have the ability to have its display flipped around so that you can use it as a tablet. They are available in a variety of processor options ranging from 7th gen Intel Celeron or Pentium processors, except the Chromebook which only supports the 6th gen Intel Celeron.

Next up are the Latitude 11 and Chromebook 11 laptops. The laptops feature fully sealed keyboards and are protected against seals, with more “secure” keys that are 50% more tamper resistant than before. Just like the Convertibles, they are available in 6th or 7th gen Intel Celeron processors or Pentium, depending on which model you go for.

Last but not least are the Latitude 13 and Chromebook 13 models. As their name implies these are larger laptops with 13-inch displays that Dell claims will feature faster processors and memory. This includes the ability to configure them all the up to Core i5 or Core i3 processors, depending on which model you have chosen.

In terms of pricing and availability, all models will be available starting 7th of February with the Latitude 11 Convertible and Chromebook 11 Convertible priced starting $579 and $349 respectively; the Latitude 11 and Chromebook 11 at $349 and $219 respectively; and the Latitude 13 and Chromebook 13 priced at $519 and $299 respectively.
