galaxy_s7_nougat_testingAs you might have heard, Samsung is releasing the Android 7.0 Nougat update to its Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets around the world. However as we have stated in the past, unlocked handsets tend to get their updates faster as sometimes those locked to carriers like in the US might require additional approval.

The good news is that if you’re on T-Mobile, it appears that the carrier is currently testing the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets. This is according to the carrier’s software updates page in which under the “Testing” category, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge phones are listed along with a bunch of handsets from other manufacturers, such as LG and HTC.

Apart from the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, there are other Samsung phones that are being tested for the update as well. This includes the Note 5, the Galaxy S6, and the S6 Edge. According to T-Mobile, “During this stage the device will go through T-Mobile certification process testing to make sure you get the best quality software possible. Devices listed here are currently preparing to deliver a software update.”

There is no word on when the update will be rolled out but we guess the fact that it is undergoing testing is good news.
