When South Park: The Fractured But Whole was announced, it was originally intended to be released on the 6th of December, 2016. However you might have heard that it has since been delayed and we do not know when the new release date is, although we suppose in a way this is more favorable compared to launching a game that isn’t ready.

That being said, given that some players have already placed their pre-orders for the game, it seems that the delay is a bit too long for Sony’s liking and in an email sent out to some of their customers, it looks like Sony has decided to cancel pre-orders of the game made via the PlayStation Store.

According to Sony’s email, it reads, “We recently informed you that there is no new confirmed release date for South Park and unfortunately we are still unable to confirm a release date. Therefore we have regrettably decided to cancel and refund your pre-order, however we’re pleased to tell that you are able to keep the copy of South Park: The Stick of Truth for free.”

It looks like the consolation here is that gamers will be able to keep the copy of the prequel for free, but ultimately you will have to place a pre-order again once the new release date has been revealed, which at the moment is really anyone’s guess.
