Warner Bros. Reportedly Considered ‘The Matrix’ Reboot

The original “The Matrix” movie was kind of groundbreaking and a pretty big deal in cinema history. Its sequels are still kind of up for debate, but it’s safe to say that the franchise has had a pretty big impact on society today. Given that it’s been almost 20 years since the original, could it be time to revisit it?

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the answer is yes. According to their report, they have heard from their sources that the folks at Warner Bros. could be considering rebooting The Matrix movie. Apparently the studio is currently in the early stages of developing a relaunch, and that they are also looking at actor Michael B. Jordan to star in it.

For those unfamiliar, Jordan is probably most well-known for his roles in TV series Friday Night Lights, Fantastic Four (which we’re not sure did his career any favors), and Creed (which definitely put him on the map if he wasn’t already). That being said, the report also noted that the Wachowski siblings who wrote and directed the first movie and its sequels will not be involved.

It is unclear as to when production might begin, or if this report is even accurate at all. But if you loved the original movie and wouldn’t mind seeing it given a modern touch, then do check back with us later for more updates.
