Apple’s ads are about to get real funny. According to a new report, the company has signed a deal with the folks over at Saturday Night Live for a commercial that will feature cast members from the longest running live TV show ever. It’s part of Apple’s push into late night TV advertising, it has been ramping up these efforts and this is a clear signal that Apple is serious about this.

Variety reports that Saturday Night Live has signed a similar deal with Verizon. Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update anchor Colin Jost is going to write a commercial for Verizon which will star SNL cast member Kenan Thompson.

SNL is going to do something similar for Apple, however, details about the ad that Apple wants to make are not available right now. It not known who has written this commercial and which cast members is going to be appearing in it.

The scribe does hear that SNL’s work for Apple is going to “look different than its Verizon efforts,” but just how that will be is unknown right now.

Apple hasn’t confirmed anything about this ad right now but the report says that it’s going to air on April 15th so we should find out soon enough.
