Facebook already has a couple of products in its portfolio that have already reached the billion user milestone. Instagram has been lagging behind but the photo-sharing network has been seeing monumental growth over the past few years. Instagram today announced that it’s one step closer to the big B as it now has more than 700 million users across the globe.

Instagram today confirmed through a post on its official blog that its community has now grown to more than 700 million users across the globe. Without going into the specifics, the company said that the last 100 million users joined the network “faster than ever.”

The Facebook-owned service has been adding new features at a rapid pace, even though some of them appears to have been taken straight from Snapchat’s playbook, they appear to be paying healthy dividends for Instagram.

The solid growth that Instagram has seen over the past few years goes to show that there’s a lot of scope for the photo-sharing network and that it hasn’t peaked yet.

It goes without saying that Instagram will continue to improve the service in order to keep existing users hooked to its app while also enticing new users across the globe to join and share their photos and videos with friends, family, and strangers on Instagram.
