Microsoft will soon start rolling out the next major update for Windows 10 very soon. Recent reports suggest that the major update it’s working on right now will be more focused on design changes for Windows 10. Multiple concepts have appeared online recently claiming to offer hints of what a Windows 10 design refresh might bring to the table. Today, a concept image has appeared online which suggests what the new Windows 10 Start menu might look like.

Microsoft is expected to release its UI update for Windows 10 later this year. This new Windows 10 Start menu concept was posted online on Twitter. It suggests that the new menu could have a transparency effect.

The Verge hears from sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans that the company has been experimenting with transparency effects for the Start menu and that this image is actually a concept of one of those ideas.

It’s obviously too soon to be certain right now if Microsoft is going to go through with this or if it’s going to make additional changes to the refreshed user interface for the Start menu in particular.

Don’t get excited about the Snapchat app icon in the menu because it’s most likely just a placeholder that’s used when concepts like these are created. It doesn’t necessarily mean that Snapchat is going to release an app for Windows 10. Microsoft is expected to reveal more about its next major Windows 10 update at its Build developers conference in May.
