The tech industry is fond of chasing after the next big thing, often referred to as a moonshot, and we’ve seen quite a few of them over the years. Apple is one company that has changed the way how the world communicates. It was nothing short of a moonshot, but Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak believes that it’s not going to be Apple that brings us the next big thing. It will be Tesla.

Speaking to Bloomberg Canada, Wozniak says that Tesla is likely going to be at the forefront of the next big thing that the world is anticipating. “I think Tesla is on the best direction right now,” he said, adding that “They’ve put an awful lot of effort into very risky things.”

Woz pointed out that Tesla CEO Elon Musk anticipated the need for more efficient transportation systems, electric and autonomous cars.

“It fit one person’s ideal of this will be the most beautiful, you know, a very beautiful, elegant and simple device to use,” he said of the Model S, Tesla’s first real product, which enabled the company to work on so much more.

One might have thought that Woz would bet on the company he co-founded more, but for now, it looks like he doesn’t see Apple doing anything that will really change the world in a way that it has done before.
