Facebook tested a temporary reaction in May last year to commemorate Mother’s Day. The temporary reaction, a purple flower, was the first that the social network added after reactions properly went live on Facebook. It was meant to enable users to show gratitude to their mothers for all that they do. Now that it’s Mother’s Day again, Facebook has brought back the purple flower reaction.

Facebook revealed today that Mother’s Day in 2016 drove more posts in one day than any other topic on the social network. More than 105 million Mother’s Day posts were made by users across the globe and over 850 million photos and videos were shared on that day.

This year, the social network is offering more ways than one to show mom or a loved one that they are appreciated. Users can send a personalized card, add colorful Mother’s Day-themed masks and frames to photos, support a cause in honor of their mothers, and simply give thanks by reacting to their posts using the purple flower reaction that’s back again.

There’s something for Instagram users as well. They will see a set of new stickers which will help them celebrate the mothers in their life. They just need to open the camera, take a photo or video, and then add as many stickers as they want.
