If you ever needed another reason to visit Japan, how about Super Nintendo World? You may or may not have recently heard that Nintendo and Universal have agreed to collaborate on a Super Nintendo World that will be opening in Universal Studios in Japan, and now it looks like more details about the attraction have surfaced, such as how there will be a Mario Kart ride.

Given how theme park attractions usually feature rides, a Mario Kart ride really doesn’t come as a surprise. In fact we would be surprised if there wasn’t one, but thankfully there is. Unfortunately at the moment not much is known about the ride, but according to Engadget, a previously filed patent did hint at what we might be able to expect.

If the patent is anything similar to the actual ride, we are looking at a ride that runs on rails. It sounds like it could be a two-person ride where one person will control the drift the kart, while the other will concentrate on using power-ups to give them a boost in speed or to hinder the competition.

Unfortunately Super Nintendo World is still very far off from opening as the plan is to open it before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, meaning that there is still a few years left. In the meantime you can check out the trailer for Super Nintendo World in the video above.
